Let Joe Know: FTC cracking down on 'junk fees' as consumers face 'fee-flation'

It happens all the time. You go to make a purchase but when it comes time to check out, the final price is much higher because of added fees. Service charges, resort fees, convenience fees (that don’t feel convenient at all)… Some consumers are fed up with what has been dubbed “fee-flation.” Now, the Federal Trade Commission is looking to crack down on “junk fees”, describing them as “unnecessary, unavoidable, or surprise charges that inflate costs while adding little to no value for consumers.”
