Both the 13-inch and 15-inch model feature the faster processor that Apple says is up to 60 percent faster than the M1. The M3 features an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU with support for up to 24GB of unified memory.

The M3 GPU supports hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing for more realistic gaming experiences.

The new models also support the faster Wi-Fi 6E standard that provides up to twice as fast download speeds compared to the previous generation. Another new feature is support for two external displays when the laptop lid is closed.

There are no changes to the external design.

You can pre-order the new models starting today with the laptops officially arriving this Friday, March 8.

The 13-inch MacBook Air with M3 starts at $1.099 while the larger model with a 15-inch screen begins at $1,299. You can select rom a midnight, starlight, silver, and space gray color.
