ASU towers over worldwide universities in employability; 2nd highest public institution in rankings
Audrey Schlichting is busy adjusting to her new job as a flight deck crew operations engineer at Boeing in Seattle, Washington. The recent ASU Barrett, the Honors College graduate said
ASU provided her with ample opportunities to grow in her career and that professors and mentors made the difference in her career path. “I’m challenge-driven and love to learn. The honors college (at ASU) was an obvious opportunity to push myself academically.”
She’s not the only ASU grad thriving after college. If you have a diploma from ASU, chances are you’re more employable than most graduates in the United States and the world. The top universities worldwide are ranked in the Global Employability University Ranking & Survey. ASU ranks 13th among U.S. institutions for employable graduates and 34th internationally. ASU is the second-highest-ranked public U.S. university in the study, behind only the University of California, Berkeley. President Michael Crow says a new kind of university can be focused on both accessibility and excellence and ASU is that university.

ASU grads are recruited by more than 2,200 employers like prestigious companies: Amazon, Intel, Banner Health, Deloitte, Honeywell, Wells Fargo, American Express, Microsoft and PepsiCo. according to ASU Career Services. For its part, Boeing hires 60-70 ASU graduates each year. Global Talent Acquisition-University Relation Lead Traci Brown-Ward says the company looks for special students with every university partnership. “A lot of the students we get from Arizona State have a passion for the industry. They want to grow.” Said Brown-Ward.
