If five-star point guard Destiny Jackson wanted inside information before she visited Arizona at the end of last season, she only had to ask former high school teammate Skylar Jones. That visit and whatever Jones told her was enough to land the Wildcats in the 2025 prospect’s top 5.
Jackson announced her final five on social media on Thursday. In addition to Arizona, she lists Big 12 foes West Virginia and Baylor, North Carolina, and home state team Illinois.
Jackson is the No. 24 player and the No. 6 point guard in the class according to ESPN HoopGurlz.
Jackson hails from Chicago where she attends Whitney Young High School, the same high school that produced Jones. She has also played for the same club team that counts Jones as an alumna, Mac Irvin Lady Fire S40.
In her first three years at Whitney Young, the 5-foot-6 guard has averaged 16.4 points, 3.6 assists, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.4 steals per game.
Jackson visited Arizona the weekend the team hosted USC and UCLA.
Arizona has recently landed in several other players’ “top” lists, but most of those are much longer. Top-ranked Aaliyah Chavez, who is also listed as a point guard, put Arizona in her top 10 in mid-May.
The Wildcats also have some top 100 players scheduled for visits in early September. Dushawn London of 247sports reported that 4-star 2025 guard Nylah Wilson will visit on Sept. 5.
Divine Bourrage, who is ranked No. 5 in the class of 2025, was also reported to have a visit scheduled for Sept. 7. Bourrage released her top 6 on July 5. Arizona made the cut along with Baylor, LSU, South Carolina, Illinois, and Virginia Tech.
