Arizona’s nonconference schedule in 2024 was the toughest in the country in terms of overall strength.
Hold my metrics, the 2025 slate said.
The Wildcats will open the 2025 season against old nemesis Ole Miss at the Shriners Children’s College Showdown in Arlington, Texas, a tournament in which they’ll also face a pair of ACC foes.
The UA’s opening game against the Rebels will be Feb. 14 at Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers. It will face Clemson on Feb. 15 and finish up Feb. 16 against Louisville.
Ole Miss and Arizona have played memorable postseason games in recent years, with the Wildcats reaching the 2021 College World Series by taking two of three from the Rebels in Tucson in the Super Regionals. A year later, Ole Miss beat the UA twice in the Coral Gables Regional en route to its first NCAA title.
The Shriners tournament is one of two Arizona is playing in Texas ahead of its first season in the Big 12. The Wildcats play Feb. 28-March 2 in the Astros Foundation College Classic at Minute Maid Park where they’ll face reigning CWS champ Tennessee, national runner up Texas A&M and 2021 NCAA champion Mississippi State.
Arizona’s home opener is expected to be Feb. 21 against San Diego in the first of a 3-game series at Hi Corbett Field.
