Bettina Nava has worked over the years to help move hearts and minds around complex issues through meaningful educational efforts, coalition building, communications strategy, and government relations. Bettina co-founded Nexus Strategy Group in 2024 along with her partners, after 9 years as Owner of OHStrategic Communications.

As a Partner at Nexus Strategy Group, Nava has helped to build a unique and dynamic communications firm that has extensive expertise with stakeholder coalition building around multifaceted issues. Over the years, Nava has worked with Fortune 500 companies, governments at all levels, tribal organizations, universities, and various community partners, building on experience as Campaign Manager for John McCain for President (2008) and as Senator McCain’s Arizona State Director.

Previously, she worked as one of eleven Regional Campaign Managers for the McCain 2008 Presidential Team across the country. As the Campaign Manager for the Southwest Region, covering four states, leading all hiring, managing and implementation of campaign tactics, strategies and communications efforts for McCain 2008 in the region. During the 2008 Presidential, she also had the honor of serving as a Presidential Elector, representing the State of Arizona.

Nava also served as State Director for Arizona Senator John McCain for several years in this federal capacity and directed the Senator’s three state offices. Additionally, she worked for Governor Fife Symington as his Director of Community Relations and Boards and Commissions. A graduate of the University of Arizona, Nava has degrees in Journalism and Religious Studies.

Nava has a long history of community involvement and has served on numerous boards over the years, including The Arizona Lodging and Tourism Association and the Board of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber, where she was named the 2012 “Woman of the Year”.  She is currently serving as a member of Greater Phoenix Leadership, on the Board of Directors for the Phoenix Art Museum as well as The Arizona Community Foundation. Nava also received the community service award from Valle Del Sol in 2014.
