(PHOENIX) – Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC) welcomes adults to experience the magic of Girl Scouting at Badge Bash, the council’s signature fundraising celebration, on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at The Bob & Renee Parsons Leadership Center for Girls and Women at Camp South Mountain in Phoenix.
Badge Bash is an adults-only (21+) event that invites attendees to step into the spirit of camp with a fun twist. Guests will form their own “troops” and explore interactive camp stations that showcase Girl Scout programs, challenging themselves to fill their sashes with custom badges while enjoying hands-on activities, craft cocktails, mobile snack carts and a special dinner and live auction under the stars.
“Badge Bash is pure fun and energy,” says Christina Spicer, Co-CEO of GSACPC. “Adults get to relive the joy of Girl Scouting and the nostalgia of childhood by creating their own troops and experiencing the depth and excitement of Girl Scout programming in action in a new way. And of course, no campout is complete without s’mores under the starry sky!”
The event also offers networking and connection opportunities, bringing together professionals from business, government, education, nonprofits, and other industries. Attendees are encouraged to dress in Girl Scout or camp-inspired attire, with a prize awarded for Best Dressed.
During the evening, GSACPC will recognize four individuals whose leadership and commitment to community advancement have deeply impacted girls and youth.
The following individuals will be honored with the 2025 Promise Award:
- Devin Booker: An NBA player for the Phoenix Suns and philanthropist, Booker has supported youth and Girl Scout programs through the Devin Booker Starting Five Initiative. His $100,000 grant replaced a vandalized and stolen mini-bus in 2021, ensuring Girl Scouts could continue accessing life-changing programs and events. Booker has also supported the Girl Scout Cookie Program, purchasing hundreds of boxes in celebration of Women’s History Month to distribute to female employees at the Footprint Center. His efforts provide girls with resources and opportunities to develop leadership skills and pursue their passions.
- Deanna Salazar: A former Girl Scout and lifelong advocate for education and equity, Salazar serves as chief administrative officer and general counsel at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. She mentors young women through programs such as the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law Advance Mentorship Program and the Valleywise Health Foundation Emerging Leaders Program, inspiring girls to pursue leadership and service.
- Teri Twarkins Kelley: A lifelong Girl Scout, former board chair, dedicated donor, and current chair of the GSACPC Investment Committee, Keller has supported girls and women through long-standing service to the council and other community organizations. She currently leads wealth management as a senior partner at Morgan Stanley and has been consecutively named to Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams, exemplifying leadership, excellence and mentorship.
- Jennifer Schuitemaker: Founder of Sweet N Skinny, Schuitemaker champions female entrepreneurship and clean, nourishing desserts. She has demonstrated courage by carving out a unique space in the food and wellness industry, and through her business and personal story, she inspires girls and women to pursue their passions with confidence, creativity, and integrity.
“The remarkable honorees of the 2025 Promise Award are living representations of the Girl Scout values we hold so close,” says Mary Mitchell, co-CEO of GSACPC. “They serve as clear examples of how one person’s commitment and actions, supported by the community, can help shape the next generation of leaders.”
Badge Bash promises attendees a night of excitement, unity, and empowerment, all while supporting life-changing programs for girls. Proceeds support GSACPC programs serving more than 12,000 girls in grades K–12 across central and northern Arizona, helping them explore STEM, outdoors, life skills and entrepreneurship programs that instill courage, confidence and character.
Community sponsors include: Jaque Bethke Design, L. Roy Papp & Associates, LLP, Collision Xperts, Wunderkind Scottsdale, Achieve, As You Wish Pottery, Great American Insurance Group, Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, Chubb Insurance, Valley Bank, and Fiesta Sports Foundation.
