The vivo X300 and X300 Pro launched last month in China, the former with a 6,040 mAh battery, the latter sporting a 6,510 mAh cell. Today there’s already a rumor about the X500 series expected next year, possibly also in October (vivo is likely skipping X400 due to tetraphobia in some parts of Asia).

The X500 devices will have 7,000+ mAh batteries, according to Digital Chat Station on Weibo. That would be a rather significant jump compared to the X300 and X300 Pro, of course. Speaking of the X300 series, the upcoming X300 Ultra is said not to reach the 7,000 mAh mark, so presumably this means its battery capacity will sit somewhere between 6,000 mAh and 7,000 mAh.

vivo is also working on some upcoming mid-range phones launching next year with 8,000 mAh and 9,000 mAh batteries, so clearly its focus at the high-end isn’t in cramming as much battery capacity as possible. The big cameras in the flagship X line probably take up some valuable space that can go to the battery in mid-rangers, we assume.
