There are a lot of sales happening this summer, and one of them is “Walmart+ Week,” a time when Walmart+ members can get a first look at the summer’s hottest items. The 2024 edition of Walmart+ Week runs June 17 to 23 (seven days, compared to last year’s four days), according to Walmart’s recent press release. And that’s not the only change. Quite a few things are different for the 2024 sale.
What is Walmart+ Week?
Walmart+ Week first popped up in 2023 (when it ran in July). This year, it’s a members-only sale that’s available to Walmart+ members only. That’s a bit different from last year, when Walmart+ Week started gave Walmart+ members early access, but then opened the deals up to all shoppers. Walmart+ is Walmart’s paid membership program ($98 a year) that unlocks perks like free delivery, savings at partner gas stations, free Paramount+ and more.
During Walmart+ Week 2024, shoppers can get:
- Exclusive deals and offers available only to members.
- Double the discount on fuel at Exxon & Mobil stations nationwide: 20 cents off every gallon.
- Up to 20% back in Walmart Cash on flights, hotels, car rentals, and activities booked through Walmart+ Travel, perfectly timed for the summer travel season. Walmart Cash, by the way is Walmart’s rewards currency, available ONLY to Walmart+ members, which can be redeemed against future purchases.
- One complimentary Express Delivery, which means you get your order in under two hours, without the usual $10 fee.
- Three free months of Walmart+ InHome, ensuring the items you want most can be conveniently dropped off right on your kitchen counter.
- Exclusive access to new and unique items for members only.
- A mystery offer (first ever!). On June 20, Walmart will reveal the details.
These offers differ a bit from the 2023 event, which offered six months of the Panera Unlimited Sip Club for free, a $30 Rover credit and Six Flags BOGO deals. Clearly, Walmart is mixing it up every iteration of this sale.
When is Walmart+ Week?
The 2024 event runs June 17 (at 12 a.m. ET) to 23. That timing is different from last year’s. In 2023, Walmart threw Walmart+ week July 10 to 13 (meaning that this year’s event is longer than last year’s). Last year’s sale also, notably, overlapped Amazon Prime Day. Amazon has already announced Prime Day will happen in July. So that means …Walmart+ Week will happen long before Prime Day even starts.
This is an interesting move from Walmart. In past years, we’ve seen major retailers deliberately throw big sales on top of Amazon Prime Day. But this year, Walmart is clearly going for a head start. A month’s head start, in facct.
How to Shop Walmart+ Week
To shop Walmart+ week, you need to:
- Become a Walmart+ member. You can sign up here. In addition to getting you into Walmart+ Week, you get access to all the benefits that Walmart+ offers to shoppers.
- On June 17, get ready to shop at 12 a.m. ET. Head to Walmart.com, log in to your account and get ready.
