Animal familiars act as your companions in-and-out of battle in Hades 2. Each familiar will join you on your runs and provide you with bonuses like collecting resources for you, increasing your stats, and damaging enemies. However, to unlock all of them, you’ll need to progress fairly far into the Underworld and the Surface, as well as unlock a few incantations.

Here are all of the animal familiars in Hades 2, and how to unlock them.

How to unlock animal familiars in Hades 2

To unlock animal familiars in Hades 2, you’ll first need to complete the “Faith of Familiar Spirits” incantation, which you’ll unlock after you complete the following:

  • Defeat Hecate five times.
  • Mine an outcropping with the Crescent Pick twice.
  • Interact with a lonely shade using the Tablet of Peace twice.
  • Dig using the Silver Spade once.

Afterward, you’ll find the incantation at the Cauldron, which can be unlocked with one lotus and two nectar.

Now, all you’ll need to do is find each familiar out on a run and give them a witch’s delight to invite them back to the Crossroads. However, after you use at least three witch’s delights, you will unlock the “Bravery of Familiar Spirits” incantation, which allows you to upgrade your familiars’ abilities.
