In the winter, Noah Fifita made history by being the first Arizona quarterback to earn 1st Team all-conference honors since 1975. Back for another year, Fifita has added another accolade to his resume.

Fifita has been named to the Big 12 preseason All-Conference Team, Arizona’s lone representative on the squad that was announced Monday by the league and the first preseason all-league quarterback in school history. The Big 12 is holding its annual media days Tuesday and Wednesday in Frisco, Texas, with Fifita one of seven Wildcats joining coach Brent Brennan.

Fifita, a redshirt senior, enters his final season off a monster 2025 that saw him set the UA single-season and career touchdown pass records. He threw for 3,228 yards and 29 TDs, helping the Wildcats go 9-4 and reach the Holiday Bowl a year after slipping to 4-8.

Arizona’s starter the last 34 games, Fifita is 829 yards from breaking Nick Foles’ school career record of 10,111. His 9,183 is third-most among active QBs behind former Big 12 passers Josh Hoover (Indiana) and Rocco Becht (Penn State).

Fifita isn’t the only player on the Big 12 preseason squad with Arizona ties. Former Wildcat Kayden Luke, now at West Virginia, is listed at fullback.
